Glossary

Here's a short list of events, objects and simbologies used in Evangelion. It's important to notice that they have been taken from many and different religions, so it's not possible to apply them following just one tradition.

Second Impact

Disaster ocurred on September, 13th of the last year of this century (this year of course, 2000). In this disaster the entire Antartic continent melted by a huge liberation of energy. The UN official repot pointed an asteroid crash as the cause of this disaster; but rumors say that the true cause was a violent explosion of an unknown creature (called angel or Adam) while scientists of the also-strange organization Seele manipulated it. The teacher from the Tokyo University, Kouzou Fuyutsuki, discovered solid evidence of the true cause of this accident and demande serious explanations from Gehrin chief Gendou Ikari. Gendou expained that probably the Second Impact was planified from the highest levels of power.

Angels

Strange creatures that attacks humanity without a clear reason; the first of them (Adam) cause what we know as Second Impact; fifteen years later, the rest of them come to destroy us; or to stop the experiment with the second of them: Lilith; how scientifics have get in touch with them or captured Lilith has never cleared up by Gainax. Their coming is described in the Dead Sea Papers that haven't been published by Seele nor El Vaticano.

Seele

Dark organization of old people who study some of the hardest mysteries of the sacred books, there aren't any proof that a relation with JASDF (against Nerv) exists. Apparently, the opinion of the members of the Seele comittee has a high credibility by the UN forces and they are constantly required by Nerv chief, Gendou Ikari. Currently, both organizations have been planning a new project called Human Complemetation Project, which will be implemented after destroying all the angels. The history between Seele and Nerv is a huge one, a one full of lies and silence.

Nerv (former Gehrin)

The state-of-the-art organization that designed the Eva's and faced the angels; with their ultra-modern technology its scientists created these huge biomechanical robots that
