Mechanic units

In Evangelion we don't have exactly what we know as mechanic units; instead the series present us strange biological creatures who have their own mind and can be piloted just partially.

The series, at first present the Evas and the angels as different creatures, one of them of divine nature, and another a man creation. But, going on with the series, we find that the Evas are just modified clones (copies) of the first angel, made to destroy the rest of the angels and to supplant them in a decisive moment when their DNA is needed.

The best weapons we have to defend ourselves are the Eva's; but it's suspected that they have been using for personal purposes by Nerv ans Seele chiefs. Not only that, their origins have been hide from the A to the Z. But let's go directly to a quick review of the mechanical settings of these huge units:
